Re: Java -no way, I'll participate on the BOINC side

Having done a fair bit of programming, I would have to say Java is a novelty, but for real number crunching it would be tremendously slow compared to a computer running native code, and orders of magnitude slower on a computer sharing the load on GPUs. If I was to make a guess, I would say, maybe 10x slower in getting number-crunched results on the same computer.

If anyone has real world comparisons, may be worth sharing.
